An Energetic Approach To Emotional Clearing
Which of the following statements best reflects what you believe? “That person made me feel soooo angry!!” or “When that person did ... (fill in the blank) what I experienced or what came up for me was the emotion of anger.” If your belief about emotions is the first one, then what you believe is that another person is responsible for how you feel or for what emotions you experience. If your beliefs are more consistent with the second statement, then you view emotions as vibrational frequencies that help you to define your human experience. Neither is right or wrong, good or bad, but the first belief fosters powerlessness or victim consciousness and the second does not.
Consider this … two people go for a ride on a roller coaster. As they approach the first downward run, one person sits with hands extended above their head, excited, screaming with glee and pumping endorphins or joyous chemicals throughout their bodies. When the ride is over, that person wants to get back in line and ride it all over again! The second person is strapped in and holding on for dear life! As they approach the first downward run, they are in terror and pumping cortisol or stress chemicals throughout their bodies. At the end of the ride, they vow to never get on another roller coaster again for the rest of their lives. Two people, on the same ride, having two very different emotional experiences. Did the ride make them feel what they did, or did their emotions simply help them to define their human experience??
Emotions as a vibrational experience run the gamut of frequencies. The lower the frequency, the more dense the emotion, the more uncomfortable the experience. In the alternative, the higher the frequency, the more joyous the emotion and the experience. For example, many believe that Fear is the densest emotion and that Anger is an expression of Fear. Regardless of what you believe about the emotion, I think we can all agree, these emotions are uncomfortable. And if we choose to not judge them as good or bad, right or wrong and simply acknowledge they just don’t feel good, our relationship to them becomes very different. For it is our judgment of emotions that keeps us attached to and stuck in them.
So now that you know what you believe about your emotions, let’s talk about a wonderful technique to transmute or shift those uncomfortable or dense emotions. The technique is called Freeze-Frame, which originates from the Institute of HeartMath** located in Boulder Creek, California, near San Francisco.
There are three quantum principles used with Freeze-Frame: 1. Everything we perceive with our senses is energy vibrating at different frequencies or rates of speed (includes all emotions, from anger to love); 2. Put something of a low vibration in the presence of a higher vibration, and the lower vibrational presence will do everything it can to increase its vibration to meet the higher one, thereby changing or transmuting its form; 3. What we focus on is what expands or grows.
Let’s review an example of the second quantum principle (also noted in the blog post below this one): a water molecule at its lowest vibrational frequency takes its most dense form - ice; at its highest vibrational frequency it’s in its least dense form - steam; in the middle - liquid. If we put ice in the presence of steam, it increases its vibration and changes form, from ice to liquid. If we keep the liquid in the presence of the steam, the liquid increases its vibration and changes form, from liquid to steam. Freeze-Frame applies these principles to shift or transmute lower vibrational or dense and uncomfortable emotions to higher vibrational, joyous ones. As for the third quantum principle, if what you focus on is what expands and grows, wouldn’t it be worthwhile to spend some time taking a look at what you’re focusing on??
Freeze-Frame utilizes powerful imagery, breath and these quantum principles. Here’s how it works, with some of my modifications, as guided over the past several years.
When you experience uncomfortable emotions, instead of judging them, simply welcome them as helpful information. Then, bring to your awareness, what the emotion is, where you’re feeling it in your body and what it means to you. When you’ve learned as much as you can, surround yourself with a violet light, a color for transmuting emotions. Then set your intention: “I choose to release the emotion of _____, with gratitude”. From this point on, you no longer focus on that which you are releasing, for it will release quite naturally on its’ own. Remember, what you focus on is what expands and grows.
Next, remember a moment in time when you were joyous, unconditionally giving or receiving love, or a moment in nature that took your breath away. Personally, I remember a time I shared with wild, spotted dolphins while visiting the Bimini Islands, when they sonared my heart, expanding it with love! That’s a whole story in and of itself.
Now, connect with your five senses, to whatever joyous moment you chose. See this place, hear its’ sounds, smell its’ aromas, experience its’ taste and feel the physical sensation of being there, as if you were reliving it in this moment. Then, remember the emotion of love, joy or inner peace and focus only on breathing that emotion into and out of your heart. If you lose your focus, simply reconnect again to your chosen moment with all of your senses and then begin breathing the joyous emotion into and out of your heart again. Continue to do this until you have a knowing or feel the emotion is no longer there that you chose to clear. Many people experience feeling less stressed or inner peace and calmness when they have finished this process.
